Juara Bertahan Team Spanyol unggulan EURO 2012


Madrid - Spanyol akan menjalani Piala Eropa 2012 dengan label unggulan dan favorit juara. Padahal Spanyol sendiri lebih suka tampil tanpa cap tersebut.

Gelar juara Piala Eropa 2008 disusul kemudian titel kampiun Piala Dunia 2010 berhasil disabet oleh 'Tim Matador'. Gelar-gelar itu tak ayal membuat Spanyol kini sangat diperhitungkan sebagai kandidat kuat juara di Euro 2012.

"Kami tidak terlalu suka dengan peran tersebut," tegas pemain bertahan Spanyol Sergio Ramos kepada AFP.

"Kami sadar semua orang menilai kami sebagai unggulan karena kami menjuarai Piala Dunia dan Euro, tapi Anda tak bisa hidup di masa lalu. Setiap hari kami harus membuktikan diri dan mulai lagi dari awal," seru salah satu pemain senior di Spanyol itu.

Musim panas nanti Spanyol akan menghuni Grup C yang juga diisi oleh juara Piala Dunia 2006 Italia, dan juga Republik Irlandia.

"Saya pikir Anda tak bisa meremehkan siapapun. Dalam kompetisi semacam ini, tim manapun bisa bikin kejutan," nilai Ramos.
