Pelatih tim nasional Perancis, Laurent Blanc menetapkan 26 pemain yang akan bergabung dalam tim bayangannya sebelum menentukan 23 pemain yang berangkat ke Euro 2012.

Dalam tim bayangan itu, Blanc memilih bek Montpellier yang belum pernah membela tim nasional, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa untuk menggantikan Younes Kaboul yang mengalami cedera lutut. Blanc juga memanggil playmaker Lyon, Yoan Gourchouff meskipun sepanjang musim penampilannya kurang meyakinkan. Namun, pria yang pernah membawa Perancis menjuarai Piala Dunia 1998 dan Piala Eropa 200 itu tidak memanggil penyerang Olmpique Marseille, Loic remy akibat cedera paha.

Sebelum Euro 2012 bergulir, Tim Ayam Jantan akan melakukan pertandingan persahabatan melawan Islandia (27 Mei), Serbia (31 Mei), dan Estonia (5 Juni). Les Blues akan melakoni partai pembuka grup D melawan Inggris pada 11 Juni sebelum menghadapi Ukraina 4 hari kemudian dan Swedia pada 19 Juni.
